Privacy & Cookies
How we handle your information.
Last updated: October 16, 2026.
What you tell us when you book
To give you an estimate and arrange a clean, the booking form asks for:
• Your name, email, phone number, street address and apartment or unit.
• How we'll get in (for example, you'll be home, a doorman or a lockbox) and any entry instructions you choose to add.
• Whether your building asks for a certificate of insurance, and if so, the building management's contact details.
• Your home's size, bedrooms and bathrooms, flooring, whether you have pets (and, if you choose, a pet hair fee pre-approval), any rooms you choose for a Deep Clean, and anything you'd like us to take extra care with.
• Your preferred arrival time, how you heard about us, and a referral code if you have one.
• Whether you'd like texts about scheduling and your visits. This is optional, and the box is unticked unless you tick it.
Please don't enter lockbox or alarm codes. The form has no place for them, and we confirm them privately before your visit.
A first booking is made once its $50 deposit is paid. Until you pay, nothing you enter on the booking form is sent to us or kept by us: your answers, your chosen time and your signature stay in your browser. If the payment doesn't go through, what was sent with it is deleted straight away.
Other things you may send us
• A message from our Help page: your name, email and message, and if you add them, your phone number, a booking reference and your company, with how you'd like us to reply. The "Inquire now" popup: your name, email and phone number.
• To catch a mistyped address, we check that the part of your email after the @ can receive mail. Only that domain is looked up, never your address.
• Photos you add when telling us something wasn't right: saved privately in our Google Drive, seen only by our team, used only to look into your visit, and deleted within 90 days.
• Photos you add with your estimate: sent to us only with your booking (for a first booking, once the $50 deposit is paid), used only to confirm your price, seen only by our team, kept privately in our Google Drive, and deleted after your first visit (30 days after a cancellation).
• A free consultation you book on our site: your name, your email, the time you choose and, if you give it, your phone number. Our booking system keeps them until the day after the call, to remind us of it. Notes we take during the call are kept privately in our Google Drive and deleted within 90 days.
• The waiting list for areas we don't serve yet: your email and ZIP code.
• Feedback after a clean: your ratings (including whether the price felt fair and how likely you are to recommend us), your comments, which areas stood out or fell short, a photo if you add one (kept in our Google Drive and deleted within 90 days), how you'd like us to reply, and your booking reference. Your comments are quoted on our website, with your first name only, only if you tick the box that allows it.
• A request to switch to a recurring plan: your name, email, phone, the plan you chose and the times that suit you.
Photos
If something at your visit needs extra cleaning time, such as pet hair, we may photograph the affected area only, so you can see it before you approve a fee. The photo is kept with your booking and shown only to you and us. We never use these photos in marketing without your separate written permission.
Text messages
We text only people who opt in. If you tick the box on the booking form, we may text you about scheduling and your visits. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help.
We record your choice and when you made it. Your phone number and your consent are never shared with or sold to anyone for marketing.
Referrals
After your first booking is confirmed, we give you a personal referral code, made from your first name and four random characters. When someone books with it, we record your name next to theirs so we can apply both credits.
Once your friend's first clean is complete and paid, we email you to say your credit is ready. That email includes your friend's first name.
Links, door hangers and how you found us
Our posts, profiles and door hangers use our own short links (for example, munduscleaning.org/go/… or the code on a door hanger). When you follow one, we note which link it was, a random visit number, whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer, and a rough area based on your connection (usually a city or borough). We don't record your IP address.
If you arrive some other way, we note only the name of the site that sent you, such as Instagram or Google, or that you came to the site directly.
As you use the estimate and booking form, we count which steps your visit reached (for example, that an estimate was started), against the same random visit number. None of this is linked to you unless you send us a form.
When you send a booking request, feedback, a plan request or a message, we include how you first found us and how you arrived most recently, so we know which of our posts and listings are worth the effort. If you become a client, we use the same information to see which of them bring in recurring clients and income.
All of this is first-party: it stays with us, in our database and our private Google Sheet. We use no advertising pixels, we don't fingerprint your device, and we don't share it with anyone.
Where your information is kept
We use a small number of services to run the business. Each receives only what it needs:
• Our email (hello@munduscleaning.org), sent through Resend, where your booking request and our replies are kept.
• A private Google Sheet and Google Chat, where we keep a record of requests and are alerted to new ones.
• Our Google Calendar, where a booking appears with its reference number, the service and neighborhood, but not your name or address.
• The U.S. Census Bureau's public address lookup, which receives your street address and ZIP code to check that the address exists.
• Vercel, which hosts this website, and a private database (Neon, provided through Vercel), where we keep a record of each booking: your contact details and address, the service and price, what has happened with the booking, and any charges and tips.
Payments are handled by Square. Card details are entered into Square's secure payment fields and are never stored by us. If you save a card for your bookings, Square keeps it; we keep only the card type and its last four digits, so we can tell you which card will be charged.
Mundus staff who manage bookings can see the booking details needed to arrange and carry out your visit, such as your name, contact details, address and price.
We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers.
What this site stores in your browser
This site uses your browser's storage for a few small, functional things:
• Remembering that you've already seen or responded to the "Inquire now" popup, and your choice on the cookie notice, so neither asks again.
• While you fill in the estimate and booking form, keeping your answers, which can include your name, address and entry instructions, in this browser for up to a day, so you can come back to them. They stay on your device and are cleared when you send the form (for a first booking, once your deposit is paid), or after a day.
• For the length of your visit only: how you arrived here (the link, or the site that sent you), a referral code from that link, and which steps of the form have already been counted.
• Only if you click "Accept" on the cookie notice: a cookie, set by this site alone, remembering how you first arrived and how you last arrived, so a later visit is credited correctly. It expires after 90 days. If you click "Decline", or change your choice later under "Cookie preferences" at the foot of any page, the cookie is deleted and nothing is kept beyond your visit.
None of this is used to track you across other websites.
Analytics
If you click "Accept" on the cookie notice, we turn on Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are useful and where visitors run into trouble — nothing more specific than that.
If you click "Decline," analytics stays off and the site works exactly the same either way.
